Rhythmic Force Announces Cymbal Instructor - Frank Jacobo!

AUSTIN, TX (August 22, 2017) – Frank is ecstatic about being able to work within a highly qualified and knowledgeable staff that includes some of his friends and teachers as a part of the NEW Rhythmic Force this season; We are glad to have him teaching the #RF2018 cymbal line! 

Frank draws on multiple years of experience both as a performer and instructor.  He started playing cymbals as a member of Teatro Indoor Percussion in 2014, aged-out of DCI with Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corp in 2015, and aged out of WGI with Monarch Independent Percussion in 2016.  As an educator, Frank has been on the battery staff working with the cymbal line for The Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, and WGI Open Class Finalist, 5points Percussion, New Braunfels HS, Hays HS and Winston Churchill HS.

Rhythmic Force Announces Front Ensemble Instructor – Buck Palmer!

AUSTIN, TX (August 21, 2017) – Buck Palmer is currently the Director of Percussion Studies, and Associate Director of Bands, at Akins High School, in Austin, TX. Buck was the Assistant Band Director of Bands at Diane Gorzycki Middle School, in Austin, TX, where he coordinated all percussion curriculum, Steel Drum Ensembles, and Jazz Bands. During his tenure at Gorzycki, Buck also worked with James Bowie High School, as the Front Ensemble Specialist.

​Buck was a member of both Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2007), and Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2008-2009). He was also a part of the percussion staff at Crossmen, as a Front Ensemble Specialist (2011-2015).

Rhythmic Force Announces Dance/ Movement Choreographers - Lilian Mason and Kristina Perello!

AUSTIN, TX (August 17, 2017) – Rhythmic Force is taking an innovative approach with our movement design for this season!   Lilian and Kristina have extensive experience with dance in the competitive marching arena.   They have trained and taught all genres of dance including modern, ballet, lyrical, jazz and contemporary.  Here’s a brief introduction to these two talented ladies!
 
Kristina is currently a full time indoor cycling instructor for Revolution Studio and a costume designer for Leapin’ Leotards, a performance wear company that serves dance teams, guards and percussion ensembles.  Kristina also teaches dance at Fort Bend Academy of Dance with a focus in jazz and contemporary styles. Kristina still choreographs and adjudicates throughout the Houston area.

From 2005-2012 Kristina was the Assistant Dance Director of the Angels Dance Team at Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, Texas. During her tenure, she choreographed National Championship routines and led the team to several Regional and National Championships.

Lilian is currently the Dance Director at Weiss High School, a brand new high school in Pflugerville, TX.   She was also the former director of the Stephen F. Austin, Angels Dance Team in Sugar Land Texas.   Lilian led the Angels Dance Team to multiple championship performances and "Outstanding Guard/Auxiliary" caption awards including Best Guard at the Friendswood Marching Festival and champions of the Lone Star Marching Preview.  The Angels Dance Team were also the recipients of Outstanding Choreography (lyrical, jazz, modern, pom, military, contemporary), Outstanding Technique 2013 - 2016, and 1st Place Overall Dance Team the the M.A. Dance Houston High School Showdown in 2014.   Last year, she founded and directed the Emerald Elite Dance Team at Lebanon Trail High School in Frisco ISD and has recently moved to Austin Texas.

Rhythmic Force Announces Battery and Visual Instructor - John (Mikey) Sheeran.

John (Mikey) Sheeran, Battery and Visual Instructor (RF)
AUSTIN, TX (August 16, 2017) – John M. Sheeran is an up and coming educator from the Central Texas area. John will join #RF2018 focusing on visual and snare instruction. He was a founding member and the first Percussion captain of the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, and has also marched with Genesis DBC, The Spirit of Atlanta, The Crossmen, Imperial percussion theater, and recently aged out with Monarch Independent as the Ensemble Captain.

John will be graduating from Texas State University in the spring of 2018 with a Music Education degree, and currently works alongside Ensemble Director Jordan Garza, helping with Percussion instruction at Weiss High school in Pflugerville Texas. 

John is  a motivated, “go-to” person and we are thrilled to have in on board.

Rhythmic Force Announces Percussion Instructor - Tyler McClendon.

AUSTIN, TX (August 15, 2017) – Tyler is a 2015 graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor’s of Music Degree in Music Education and is currently the Percussion Director at Tivy High School in Kerrville, TX.  Tyler was a member of the front ensemble staff at Monarch Independent for both the 2016 - 2017 seasons, and brings some great teaching experience to Rhythmic Force! With his well rounded background, Tyler will be teaching both the battery and front ensemble sides of the program.  Tyler is excited about working with our highly qualified staff and we are glad to have him on board with #RF2018.

Rhythmic Force announces Visual Designer - Luke Gall!

AUSTIN, TX (August 14, 2017) – Rhythmic Force is proud to have Luke helping lead our design team.  He will work with Jordan and Andrew to sculpt this new production!  His experience with design and innovation is INCREDIBLE AND EXTENSIVE!!   Luke Gall is a founder and owner of My Design Team, inc., a design and education company that operates out of Austin, TX. This firm encompasses his work as a consultant, program coordinator, visual designer, and videographer for music ensembles around the world.

Luke has a comprehensive background in the arts as a teacher and performer. He has served as a program coordinator, visual designer, and consultant for over 50 programs around the country. Luke has helped design over 75 shows that have received honors in BOA (Bands of America), USSBA (U.S. Scholastic Band Association), TOB (Tournament of Bands), and WGI (Winter Guard International). He performed for 5 years as a member of The Cadets, Crossmen, and Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps.

Luke’s work as an entrepreneur led to the creation of Ultimate Drill Book – a company that creates educational tools for marching ensembles. Luke lead the development of all products that have supported Carolina Crown, The Bluecoats, Santa Clara Vanguard, The Cadets, Phantom Regiment, Boston Crusaders, The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, and hundreds of other drum corps, high school, and collegiate programs annually. He now oversees all business operations and serves as the designer for all Ultimate Drill Book products and mobile applications.

Rhythmic Force announces Music Designer/ Arranger - Andrew Markworth!

AUSTIN, TX (August 12, 2017) – Andrew Markworth is an active and sought out composer/arranger in the marching arts activity.  He is the music ensemble arranger and coordinator for Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corp. This season he was awarded the Director's award from the Crossmen. Andrew was the front ensemble arranger and coordinator at Carolina Crown from 2007 - 2014. He is currently the music director and a designer for Rhythm X and Rhythm X Winds.   

RF is honored to have someone as talented as Andrew arranging our book this season!  RF has made some exciting changes for this upcoming season and this is just one of them!  We have put together a new instructional staff and a brand new design team for #RF2018.   We are looking forward to throwing down with Andrew and Luke leading our design team!

Rhythmic Force announces new Battery Staff Member - Scott Lowe!

AUSTIN, TX (August 10, 2017) – Scott is a graduate of Texas State University where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance. His instructors throughout his years of musical studies include Mark Garlitos, Genaro Gonzalez, Bobby Lopez, Butch Miles, Kari Klier, Jordan Garza, Kevin Welborn, David Reeves, and Ralph Hardimon. Some of his performance experiences in the marching percussion world include three summers with Troopers DBC, and two seasons of indoor percussion. As an instructor, Mr. Lowe has worked with multiple percussion programs including Ronald Reagan HS, Canyon HS, Westlake HS, and Genesis DBC. When he’s not teaching, Mr. Lowe gigs regularly with a 4-piece rock group called Muff. He has also performed with the Waterloo Wind Band of South Austin.

Rhythmic Force announces Front Ensemble Staff Member - Rene Gonzalez!

AUSTIN, TX (August 10, 2017) – Rene will teach alongside Bobby Lopez and Jordan Garza this season at Rhythmic Force.  Mr. Gonzalez holds a Master of Music degree in Latin Music Performance and Percussion Performance from Texas State University where he was the graduate teaching assistant for the TSU Percussion Studio and Latin Studies program. Rene was a member of the institution’s award-winning salsa band, Salsa Del Rio. Rene won many awards with Salsa Del Rio including the "Best Conguero" award at the Notre Dame's Collegiate Jazz Festival 50th Anniversary in 2008 and a Down Beat Magazine’s "Best Blues, Pop and Rock Recording" award for Salsa Del Rio’s album Llorarás in 2007. Additionally, while performing with Salsa Del Rio, the band won three awards at Univision’s Premios a La Musica Latina in San Antonio, Texas for Best Salsa Band of the Year. The band also participated at the 2007 Brienz Jazz Festival and Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Rene is an active member of the Austin, Texas, music scene as the conguero for Cienfuegos and La Moña Loca. He is also a member of Henry Brun & the Latin Playerz from San Antonio, Texas. Rene has had the honor to perform with the Latin Playerz at the 2008 and 2015 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), Jazz’SAlive in San Antonio, Texas, the 2011 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, and the Taichung Jazz Festival in Taichung, Taiwan.

Rhythmic Force announces Front Ensemble Coordinator, Bobby Lopez.

AUSTIN, TX (July 24, 2017) – Rhythmic Force is excited to have Bobby Lopez as our Front Ensemble Coordinator.   Bobby’s background in percussion is extensive to say the least, and we are thrilled to have him joining our team! He will work closely with our Ensemble Director to craft the front ensemble performances for our 2018 production. 

Bobby is currently a Senior Lecturer at Texas State University as well as  an active educator, clinician, performer and adjudicator throughout the United States. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Texas State University.   Alumnus of the DCI High Percussion recipient, 1998 Santa Clara Vanguard, and the 1999 DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils, he was awarded first prize for his composition "Two Days" in the 1998 DCI multi-percussion solo competition. He has worked with several percussion programs including Georgetown High School (TX), Cedar Park High School, Revolution Indoor drumline, and the Texas State University drumline. 

“I have worked with Bobby for several years with my own programs, and his knowledge in percussion will be a huge asset to our season!  He is not only a master teacher but a master performer, and I’m beyond excited to have him guiding the way for our front!” says our Ensemble Director, Jordan Garza.
