ROBERTO MONROY
Executive/Head Director & Founder
r.monroy@rhythmicforce.org

Mr. Monroy attended the University of Texas at Austin in 1998.
During his first year he studied percussion with Professor
George Frock.  He later continued his studies in Chemistry and
Sociology.  While attending school, Mr. Monroy performed with
the Hispanic Business Student Assosication, Longhorn Wind
Ensemble, Longhorn Steel Drums, Longhorn Concert Band and
was a member of the University of Texas Drum Line and served as Tenor Section Leader.  Mr. Monroy, has also performed with a UT performance group called POTHEADS, and was a member of Blue Man Group New York and Chicago.

Mr. Monroy formed Rhythmic Force in November 2005.  His idea for the organization was to target high school students who cannot participate in winterline activities or competitions due to insufficient funding at local schools.  In the Fall of 2008, he expanded Rhythmic Force to target all age groups by creating the Youth Percussionist, Performance and Production Group.  In the Fall of 2010, Rhythmic Force expanded to the Hutto/Round Rock area creating EX-34 for middle school aged students.  He hopes to give the members of our Production Group an opportunity to perform at a high level of playing and generate audience appeal.

Mr. Monroy started his teaching career in 1999 at Lanier High School working with their drum line, which was ranked in the top two in their division during his years teaching.  Currently, he is the Percussion Director at Hutto High School, Crockett High School, and Ann Richards School for Women Leaders.  He writes warmups, cadences, and show for their marching percussion.   He also currently runs percussion programs throughout the City of Austin at Campbell Elementary and Norman Elementary.  During the week, he gives private lessons (hand drum, drum set, mallets, marching percussion) to individuals ranging from the age of five to forty.
